Rhode Island Center for Environmental Education

Welcome to the Rhode Island Center for Environmental Education (RICEE)

At the Rhode Island Center for Environmental Education (RICEE), we’re committed to protecting public health and building a safer, lead-free future for our communities. As the state’s premier training resource for lead detection, awareness, and safety, we prepare individuals to become certified Rhode Island Lead Inspectors and Abatement Contractors through rigorous, hands-on education.

Our programs are fully state-approved and designed to blend classroom learning with real-world field experience. Students gain practical knowledge in inspection techniques, hazard assessment, and compliance procedures aligned with Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH), HUD, and EPA standards.

At RICEE, we believe that education is the foundation of prevention. Every lesson we teach empowers professionals to identify risks, promote safe practices, and protect families from the dangers of lead exposure.

We stand for:

  • Environmental responsibility — fostering awareness and sustainable practices
  • Regulatory compliance — ensuring adherence to state and federal safety standards
  • Professional excellence — equipping our students to lead with confidence and integrity

Through training and certification, RICEE is shaping a new generation of environmental professionals—people dedicated to creating safer homes, healthier neighborhoods, and a cleaner future for Rhode Island.
