Lead Inspector Course Registration

The Rhode Island Lead Inspector Refresher Course is a one-day (8-hour) training
designed to renew certification for licensed Lead Inspectors as required by
216-RICR-50-15-5 and the Rhode Island Department of Health. The course updates
inspectors on federal, state, and local requirements while reinforcing inspection
accuracy, safety, and professional integrity. Participants review current HUD, EPA,
and RIDOH regulations, focusing on Comprehensive Environmental Lead Inspections
(CELI) and associated field techniques. Training modules emphasize visual
inspections, XRF testing, dust, soil, and water sampling, and proper use of
RIDOH-approved documentation. The program reinforces accurate recordkeeping,
impartiality, and legal obligations. Through case studies and practical exercises,
inspectors refresh their understanding of field protocols, report preparation, and lead
hazard management. Upon successful completion, participants receive a RICEE
Certificate of Refresher Training valid for two years, fulfilling the RIDOH continuing
education requirement. The accompanying Student Manual serves as a reference
guide containing current regulatory excerpts, sample forms, and best practices to
ensure consistent compliance and professional excellence in Rhode Island’s lead
inspection program.
